Do you care enough to stop child abuse?

Did you know that an average of 7 children in Malaysia suffered abuse everyday in 2008, and these are only reported cases. Many more experience abuse in silence and behind closed doors.

Abuse robs a child of their dignity. It can also leave invisible scars on children, their families and society that last lifetimes, if not generations.

Prevention is the best hope we have to improve the lives of children and their families. Putting an end to child abuse is a shared responsibility that requires each of us to care and act. Join us, united we can make a difference.

Our positions

§ Every child has the right to grow up safe from harm, abuse and violence.

§ Child abuse, whether in the form of neglect, physical, emotional or sexual abuse, is never right and must be prevented.

§ Parents, brothers and sisters, relatives, guardians, teachers and all other adults are responsible for upholding children’s right to protection.

Take action today!

§ Learn more abuse, including signs to recognise it.

§ Discuss and raise awareness about child abuse.

§ Promote parenting education and respect for children.

§ Get involved and report abuse. Call 15999.

§ Spread the word about our movement to stop child abuse.

The campaign

Launched on 6 October 2010, Get on Board is a "peoples' campaign" by UNICEF to empower the public with the knowledge, insights and resources to stop child abuse. We hope you will embrace it, support it and promote it in your own unique ways to ensure a safe and protected childhood for every child, everywhere.

Do the right thing. Get on board. Join us to stop child abuse!
