The Government of Liberia and UNICEF complete Year-End Review and planning meeting
BONG, 18 January 2023 – The Government of Liberia together with UNICEF Child Survival and Development section and partners concluded the 2022 Year-End Review meeting and the 2023 annual planning consultation in Gbarnga Bong County.
The year-end meeting was held to identify agreed upon achievements, major challenges and bottlenecks encountered during the year, and to inform the planning process for 2023 and 2024. Furthermore, the meeting was an opportunity to agree with partners on opportunities for programme convergence to maximize the impact of the Child Survival and Development programme interventions. for greater outcome for children and women in Liberia.
“With the fast-moving pace of Health, Nutrition and Wash in our country, we need to look at the hard truth, you’re the technicians, you know the data, you know the situations, how can we translate that into something positive,” said Chief Medical officer Dr. Francis Ketteh while addressing the participants. “We all are called to make a difference in the lives of those innocent ones, on behalf of the President and the Minister of Health, let me assure you of our team fullest corporation to strengthen basic health care services throughout the length and breadth of Liberia.”
The meeting was marked by sectors presentations on how to improve and strengthen the provision of services in Health, Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene areas. The discussants were focused primarily on women, children, and adolescents.
