Life Skills Training Manual

For adolescents and youth in Lesotho

Highlights

The Adolescent Life Skills Training Manual is a youth-centred resource designed to equip adolescents and young people in Lesotho with the skills they need to navigate an increasingly complex and changing world.

Developed through a participatory process led in partnership with a youth-led civil society organization, the manual places young people at the centre of shaping the content, language, and priorities, reflecting UNICEF’s commitment to meaningful youth participation. Grounded in 21st century skills, the manual goes beyond traditional life skills approaches by preparing adolescents not only for education and employment pathways, but also for entrepreneurship, adaptability, and lifelong learning. It recognizes young people as active contributors and problem-solvers, providing practical tools to help them transition from school to work, respond to uncertainty, and create opportunities for themselves and their communities.
