This brief highlights the urgent need to address violence, exploitation, and harmful practices affecting children in Lesotho, emphasizing that such experiences can lead to serious developmental issues, mental health problems, and poor educational outcomes. Despite some progress in recognizing and documenting violence against children and gender-based violence, many incidents remain unreported due to societal stigma and misconceptions about acceptable discipline, and significant gaps in enforcement and data collection remain.
