At 26, Layal found herself lost in the job market. A student at the Lebanese University, majoring in Business Computer and Software Skills, she wasn’t sure which direction to take, business, programming, or IT. “I stayed home for a long time,” she recalls. “It’s very difficult to have the right support. I didn’t know who to ask for help.”
Everything changed when she came across the Employment Hub on social media. Through career coaching, tailored guidance, and skills development, Layal began to regain her confidence. “The one-on-one sessions with my coach were truly life-changing,” she says. “They guided me, pushed me forward, and helped me find clarity.”
Through the Generation of Innovation Leaders (GIL) supported by UNICEF, Layal gained not only employability and digital skills but also the mindset to thrive. The programme’s personalized approach helped her set clear goals and open new professional doors.
Today, Layal works as a Software Analyst, leading a Quality Assurance community she created to help others grow and connect. “The programme opened many doors for me,” she says with pride. “It helped me find my path.”
This initiative was implemented with funding from the Government of the Netherlands and the UK National Committee through the PETEX project.
