For Ali Trabousli, navigating Lebanon’s job market was never easy. After graduating from the Lebanese University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he decided to shift careers and explore back-end development, a bold move that came with uncertainty. “No one really prepares students for how to search for a job,” he says. “That’s when I started looking for alternatives.”

Ali came across the Employment Hub part of the Generation of Innovation Leaders (GIL) programme supported by UNICEF through LinkedIn, a turning point in his journey. “I really needed this, especially because I’m always looking to develop my skills,” he shares. The programme provided more than just training; it offered career coaching, guidance, and tools to understand the job market. “The one-on-one coaching sessions helped me visualize my goals,” he adds. “I learned what I wanted, where to apply, and how to apply.”

Within just three months, Ali secured a job, a milestone that reflected his growth and persistence. The Employment Hub, under the Generation of Innovation Leaders (GIL) programme supported by UNICEF, equipped him with the practical skills and confidence to navigate Lebanon’s challenging employment landscape. Ali’s story is one of adaptability, resilience, and self-discovery, showing that with the right guidance, young people can build their own paths toward opportunity.
