Protocols for the provision of care for survivors of violence against children
Systematic review of national protocols in LAC countries: Policy brief
The prevention of and response to violence against children is a major focus of the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization Regional Office for the Americas (PAHO/WHO) and the UNICEF Latin American and Caribbean Regional Office programmes, as these organizations are in line with the widely endorsed INSPIRE package of seven strategies for ending violence against children.
As part of their actions, PAHO and UNICEF are collaborating to assist Governments in fulfilling their critical roles in ending violence against children.
This study assesses the health sector’s response to violence against children (VAC) within the region in order to provide guidance and recommendations to strengthen national health sector response to violence against children.
