Technical note - Migratory regularization as an essential condition for the comprehensive protection
of the rights of children in the context of human mobility
The present document, of technical nature, is intended to make visible the multiple and interdependent links that exist between, on the one hand, migration status of children and adolescents and/or their families in the context of human mobility. And on the other hand, the exercise of the rights recognized in the Convention on the Rights of the Child to all persons under 18 years of age.
The objective is to promote the adoption of measures to regulate and promote access to regular residence for children and adolescents and/or their parents or legal representatives as a mechanism for the protection of the rights of children and adolescents.
This, in turn, results in a strengthening of a number of public policies of the countries in which they reside, given the intimate connection between the guarantee of the rights of all children that make up a society and the goals of well-being, human security, living conditions and human development within every State.
