UniSat Nano-satellites skills for girls and young women

Highlights
UNICEF Kazakhstan and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University launched the ‘UniSat Nanosatellites educational project for girls and young women’. This skills-based programme aimed to develop the knowledge and competencies of girls and young women aged 14-35 years in the development of nanosatellites.
It also aimed to improve transferrable skills including teamwork, public speaking, time management and creativity. The nanosatellite initiative introduced a pioneering approach to skills programming with and for girls, and sought to empower them to challenge and scientists, and politicians to 619 girls and young women across Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
