KINGSTON, 12 February 2025 – UNICEF Jamaica is pleased to announce the renewal of our agreement with Jamaican Olympic Gold Medalist and World Champion sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce as UNICEF National Ambassador. With her profound impact and commitment, Shelly-Ann will continue to support UNICEF’s advocacy for early childhood development, positive parenting, health, and nutrition.

“We are thrilled to have the renewed support of Shelly-Ann’s powerful voice on a range of issues which are of concern to us about children in Jamaica, today,” said Olga Isaza, Representative, UNICEF Jamaica.

“I am deeply honoured to renew my partnership with UNICEF as a National Ambassador. UNICEF and I are united by our shared commitment to advocating for the children of Jamaica. Our passion for investing in their futures and creating lasting impact for generations is unwavering. I am excited to work alongside the UNICEF team to further this advocacy work and amplify efforts to improve the lives of children in Jamaica,” said Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.

Shelly-Ann was first named UNICEF National Ambassador in 2010 and has since been a strong advocate for UNICEF’s work, particularly in promoting healthy breastfeeding and empowering teen moms. Widely regarded as one of the greatest female athletes of all time, she is a three-time Olympic gold medalist and fourteen-time World Champion. Shelly-Ann has dominated the 100m sprint event for nearly two decades and is known for her explosive speed, incredible power, and unwavering dedication to her craft.

Off the track, she is a devoted mother, philanthropist, and entrepreneur, dedicated to championing children’s education and parenting.

UNICEF works with National Ambassadors to promote changes in policies and practices to help keep children safe. Additionally, National Ambassadors are invited to see UNICEF’s work on the ground and actively contribute their passion and expertise to drive meaningful change for children.
