UNICEF Iran Representative Met the International Affairs Director General of DCHQ
UNICEF Iran Representative, Dr. Robin Nandy, met with Dr. Amirabbas Lotfi, the Director General for International Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Drug Control Headquarters (DCHQ) on Wednesday, December 16, 2021.
During this meeting, Dr. Nandy and Dr. Lotfi discussed ongoing mutual efforts in Iran to promote the wellbeing of children and adolescents, including drug demand reduction, and further strengthening of DCHQ and UNICEF’s partnership.
In addition, the two sides discussed the required priorities for DCHQ, especially support to vulnerable groups including single parent families, supporting social entrepreneurship projects for adolescents and youth, and primary drug use prevention and drug abuse treatment.
The priorities and components of the next Country Programme of Cooperation between UNICEF and the Islamic Republic of Iran (2023 – 2027) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) were among other topics discussed by the two officials.
