UNICEF explains on the images of masks released in social media claimed to be associated with this organisation

UNICEF Iran/2020

The UNICEF Brand has a long and trusted history working for every child in Iran. Recently some images have been circulated in social media of packs of masks with the UNICEF logo. This is concerning to us, because we take our good name very seriously.

This is to inform you that UNICEF does not supply any COVID-related products branded with UNICEF name or logo. These items do not belong to UNICEF and are not included in the PPE supply items recently shipped to Iran for COVID19. The UNICEF donated PPE items do not have such branding on their packs and have been distributed to hospitals under medical universities, admitting COVID19 patients, in six provinces.

Circulating such images and claiming that they are UNICEF PPE supplies is unethical and may be subject to legal action. If you have seen products you believe to be false or messages you do not believe came from UNICEF, please help us by sending them to our verified social media accounts direct inbox or email us at Tehran@unicef.org
