UNICEF and Tehran Chamber Discuss Private Sector Engagement for Children

UNICEF Iran and Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculturethe (TCCIMA) joined hands to organize a one-day session on Private Sector Engagement for Children on18 January 2022.

The event attended by the business leaders and UNICEF experts aimed at reinforcing why it is important for the private sectorand UNICEF to engage strategically&explore opportunities to work together in different sectors including health, education,social policy and child protection towards improving the lives of children.

The shared value partnerships were explored in the interactive discussions and the participants highlighted the value of joint programmes to achieve positive results for all children,especially the most vulnerable ones. The UNICEF MENA Partnership Manager, Mr. Yamiko Samu, virtually joined the session and elaborated on the UNICEF Strategic Plan in approaching corporate partnerships and provided examples of successful partnerships with UNICEF at the global level.

The Secretary General of the TCCIMA, Dr. Bahman Eshghi and the UNICEF Representative in Iran, Dr. Robin Nandy, also underlined the strong commitment within both sides to bring together actors and mobilize all resources to address the needs of children.
