April 16 - The Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare and UNICEF signed a joint workplan in line with UNICEF Country Programme of Cooperation with government (2017-2021) and in accordance with the priorities set out in the 6th National Development Plan. The workplan is shaped around strengthening national capacities in enhancing and expanding the child-focused social protection policies and programmes.The workplan was signed by Dr Meydari, Deputy Minister of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare for Social Welfare and Ms Christine Weigand, UNICEF Iran Deputy Representative.
UNICEF and the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare work closely to ensure the most disadvantaged children and women in Iran enjoy increased benefits from more integrated, inclusive social welfare and poverty reduction policies and programmes.
