UNICEF and Pardis Technology Park organized the Pitch Event of the 2nd UNICEF Innovations for Children and Adolescents Challenge in Iran in the Azadi Innovation Factory on 15th of December 2022 to recognize the top solutions.

The 2nd UNICEF Innovation Challenge was organized to identify, assess, and support top innovative solutions that aim to address challenges faced by children and adolescents in Iran. Innovative solutions in three categories, namely 1) Learning and Play, 2) Health and Protection, and 3) Equity and Social Support Services were prioritized. Solutions were reviewed and assessed in two categories of tech-based solutions and social innovations.

Following the call, 29 solutions were received from across the country, and all were assessed through three rounds of review. Finally, 10 solutions were shortlisted and invited to pitch their solution to the panel and were assessed based on 10 criteria. 10 shortlisted solutions included “Jabzi: A Place for Play, A Place for Life”, “Purposeful Growth Monitoring for Children under 5”, “Drop-based Education and Learning Ecosystem”, “Jaizi Platform: Promoting Educational Justice using Network Effect”, “Ninipa: Specialized Children Growth Monitoring Platform”, “Modern Treatment for Amblyopia using Virtual Reality Technology”, “Nature Studio”, “Robocode: Computational Thinking & Digital Literacy for Kids”, “Robokidz: The Interactive Robotic Theme Park”, and “MomoBob Platform: Let’s Play, Learn, and Grow”.

After each pitch, questions from the panelists were addressed, and the event was concluded with a cross-feedback networking session.

The Expert Panel Session identified 3 top innovative solutions. The “Modern Treatment for Amblyopia using Virtual Reality Technology” was recognized as the first top innovative solution, and “Robokidz: The Interactive Robotic Theme Park” and “Jabzi: A Place for Play, A Place for Life” secured the second and the third positions respectively.
