Make the Invisible Visible: UNICEF urges louder voices and urgent action to fight violence against children


Violence against children is all too often unseen, unheard and underreported, said UNICEF today, announcing an initiative that urges ordinary citizens, lawmakers and governments to speak out more forcefully to fight violence against children.




Singer-Songwriter Lenny Kravitz teams up with UNICEF to end preventable child deaths


“It’s every parent’s worst nightmare – an extremely ill child,” said Kravitz. “UNICEF’s goal is to make sure that 100 per cent of children are immunized against preventable diseases. Failing to reach every last child is unacceptable, especially when the cost of a vaccine is so little.”





UNICEF and the Government of Guyana Sign Annual Work Plan for 2013


The Government of Guyana (GOG) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) this morning signed the Annual Work Plan (AWP) for 2013, which outlines priority areas under which work will be undertaken during the year, including specific interventions in the areas of Survival, Development, Protection and Participation for the benefit of all children in Guyana.

The Annual Work Plan was officially signed by the Honourable Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett, Minister of Foreign Affairs and UNICEF Representative, Dr. Suleiman Braimoh.
