Assessment of Strategies and Approaches to Address child marriage in Ghana

In 2017 UNICEF Ghana commissioned an external formative assessment of strategies and approaches to address child marriage supported during the 2014-2016 period in partnership with Government and Civil society. The findings of the assessment critically highlighted lessons learnt, successful approaches, current gaps and recommendations for programme improvement. Recommendations have informed programmatic strategies on adolescent girls and are used for advocacy to ensure cross-sectoral linkages and in addressing interrelated drivers of child marriage more holistically. Findings were also effectively used in the development of a cross-sectoral proposal on adolescent health and development for Government of Canada and the development of the 2018-2019 Annual Work Plans for the UNFPA-UNICEF Global Programme to Accelerate Actions to End Child Marriage. click on thumbnail to download the report)
