United Nations agencies

In line with the Delivering as One (DaO) concept, UNICEF Gambia increasingly fosters collaboration with its sister agencies every year. Specifically, UNICEF Gambia collaborates regularly with UNFPA, UNDP, WFP, WHO and UNHCR on child related issues.

UNICEF is part of the UN Joint Programmes for Nutrition, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting.

UNICEF also sits as a chair or is a member in all UN Operational and thematic working groups, including the UN Communication Group (UNCG), Programme Coordination Group (PCG), M&E group, Data & Statistics group, Harmonized Approach to Cash Transfer (HACT) group, the UN Disaster Management Group (UNDMG) and the UN Dispensary.

UNICEF has a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with WFP on Education, Nutrition and Disaster Risk Reduction.

UNICEF plays a principal role in the joint UN and government MoU for Social Protection in The Gambia, which includes the following UN and Bretton Woods partners: UNICEF, UNDP, UNAIDS, WFP, ILO, IMF; and government partners:  Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs; Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment; and Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of The Gambia.
