UNICEF, the world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, seeks a Temporary Appointment for Planning Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) Section of UNICEF CEE/CIS, under the overall supervision of the Regional Advisor, Monitoring and Evaluation and the daily supervision of the UNICEF Regional M&E Specialist (MICS Coordinator), the Monitoring Officer will work on supporting the preparation, design, implementation, data processing, and analysis of the MICS surveys in selected countries in the region.

Qualifications and Competencies

- A University Degree or equivalent in Social Sciences, Demography, Statistics, Epidemiology, or other related technical field is required. A Master’s degree is highly desirable.

Skills and Experience
-  Two to fours years’ experience in implementation of Household surveys (Prior MICS/DHS coordination experience highly desirable);
- Strong knowledge in data processing and statistical analyses (CSPRo for data processing and SPSS for  data analysis) is highly desirable;
- Fluency in English requested; knowledge of Russian and/or other languages of the region  is an asset;
- Excellent oral and written communications in English;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability and willingness to travel to all countries across the region and other UNICEF regions if needed.

- Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment and establish harmonious and effective relationships with national partners;
