On 18 October 2022 in India, 32-year-old Kaneez Fatima is seen with her youngest born, Hammad Mustafa Khan, 13 months. Fatima lives with her four children in M East ward, Shivaji Nagar, Mumbai. Her other three older children have all been vaccinated, however, Hammad Mustafa is a zero-dose child. According to Kaneez, Hammad is zero-dose because he has constantly been unwell, hence she has not gotten him immunized.

These adolescents are exposed to risky environments when the parents don’t have the skills to care for them. There are many negative influences which are attractive to adolescents and without the parental support they fall prey to drugs, alcohol, gaming addiction and sexual exploitation.
