Young voices leading the fight against climate change
A dialogue between youth and policymakers from Africa and Europe, 14th Feb, 13:00 - 14:30 CET

In the lead up to the African Union-European Union (AU-EU) Heads of States Summit, UNICEF will organise a public virtual debate that brings together young people from across Africa and Europe to discuss their experiences of climate change and discuss practical solutions to the climate crisis.
The debate will be democratic dialogue with and for young citizens from Africa and Europe.
The virtual debate will take place on 14th Feb, 13:00 - 14:30 CET
It will be aligned with the core priorities of the AU-EU Summit: climate, education, digitalization, governance, peace & security, with a particular focus on the Sahel Region. Climate change will be the entry point to address the other topics that are all linked to the climate crisis.
The event will build upon:
- The joint EU-AU-UNICEF partnership for the “Your Voice, Your Future” Campaign
- The Young people’s voices from the Sahel’s original initiative
- EU Youth involved in climate action, such as the ClimatePact ambassadors.
