Improving health services in Yemen
Working together with the EU to protect children from disease

UNICEF and the EU support children living in the midst of humanitarian crises by increasing their access to primary health services and providing life-saving vaccines, medical and nutrition supplies.
In Yemen, every day, the partnership between the EU and UNICEF ensures more children have access to quality healthcare by supporting health facilities with the provision of medical and technical equipment and training community health workers. With the support of the EU’s development aid (EuropeAid) the programme seeks to strengthen the fragile health system in the country and enhances the health of children and their families.
Additionally, UNICEF is able to provide lifesaving nutrition to children suffering from severe acute malnutrition thanks to the support of the EU’s humanitarian aid.
Joint sanitation projects are improving the water and sewage network to make sure children are protected from diseases such as acute watery diarrhoea and cholera.
