Child participation in public spheres
Key Resources
Children say that in everyday decision making, especially in schools and communities, their rights, voice, and meaningful participation matter to them. They want their opinions considered. However, much remains to be done to ensure this takes place systematically. The EU-funded project, Children as Champions of Change: Ensuring Children’s Rights and Meaningful Participation, aims to assess current practice on rights-based child participation, build the capacity of children and local authorities, facilitate local enabling frameworks, and enable advocacy and dialogue in order to improve children’s voice and influence in the public sphere.
