Displaced families with disabled children are less equipped physically, mentally, and emotionally to cope with these extreme conditions.
UNICEF Ethiopia/Ayene/2023

Highlights

Global estimation of the prevalence of children's disabilities worldwide is at least 10%. Children with disabilities are more easily discriminated, stigmatized, separated from their families, and face a higher risk of violating their human rights. Thus UNICEF Ethiopia adopted a twin-track approach (mainstreaming and targeting) to leave none behind through strengthening inclusion work in UNICEF's programs and operations.
