The Emergency Coordination Unit works to coordinate UNICEF Ethiopia Country Office's support to Government of Ethiopia capacity for disaster risk reduction, mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. This support is guided by UNICEF Core Commitments for Children in humanitarian situations. Humanitarian Action for Children - Ethiopia
UNICEF’s 2017 Humanitarian Action for Children (HAC) appeal for Ethiopia, launched in January, amounts to US$ 110.5 million. US$ 93.1 million will be used to respond to the drought situation, and the remaining is for refugee response.
