UNICEF Eswatini supports sensitization of media personnel on Covid-19

Risk Communication and Community Engagement is an essential component of the COVID-19 emergency preparedness and response activities. UNICEF continues to support the risk communication and community engagement committee chaired by the Ministry of Health and co-chaired by National Disaster Management Agency.
Recognising that the media is an important cadre in disseminating correct information on COVID-19, UNICEF supported the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Information Communication and Technology to sensitise programme producers from radio and television stations in the country. A total of 60 media personnel trained in groups of 20 for each media house were sensitized on COVID-19 to be able to communicate effectively on radio and television.

UNICEF is committed to continue to ensure all citizens have access to correct information on COVID-19 which will inform correct behavior to curb the spread of the disease.
