The impact of COVID-19 on children and families in Eastern and Southern Africa is huge. From widespread school closures and loss of income to stalled vaccination programmes and spikes in violence against children. But, as always, there are beacons of hope and innovation amidst an unprecedent situation that is challenging millions throughout the region.
