About

The joint four-year regional 2gether 4 SRHR programme in Eastern and Southern Africa, funded by SIDA, has brought together four UN agencies – the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

The programme, funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), aims to strengthen integrated services for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), HIV and sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). Importantly, the agencies all share a common goal to improve sexual and reproductive health and rights in order to accelerate progress towards Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 – to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all ages and SDG 5 – to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
