Child Poverty in Lesotho (2011)
About
The Global Study on Child Poverty and Disparities was launched by UNICEF in 2007 to monitor progress towards MDG four, to promote child health by reducing child mortality, and to ensure that children are a focus of the international development agenda.
Aiming to provide evidence to improve the welfare of children, this study firstly assesses the situation relating to child poverty and disparities, and secondly collates evidence about the efficacy of existing policies and programmes that relate to children. The gaps between the needs of the children and the policies in place are identified to pinpoint the opportunities to reduce child poverty.
