UNICEF is distributing School and Education Supplies to 550 Schools in Sinai Peninsula and Ismailia
In cooperation with the Ministry of Education & Technical Education, the Egyptian Red Crescent and the Support of the UK Government
With the start of the new academic year, UNICEF is distributing education supplies to 550 schools in the Sinai Peninsula and Ismailia, thanks to the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education (MoETE) and the generous contribution of the UK government.
Distribution is taking place in 250 schools in North Sinai Governorate, 120 schools in South Sinai Governorate and 180 schools in Ismailia Governorate. The action is carried out by UNICEF’s implementing partner for this project, the Egyptian Red Crescent.
The distribution of school supplies comes in line with the new curriculum on Life skills and Citizenship Education. Providing schools with these supplies makes them readier to roll out the new curriculum which is part of the educational reform program Education 2.0.
Also, the distribution of school supplies is carried out in close cooperation with our partner the Egyptian Red Crescent as well as the relevant authorities.
The teaching and learning materials targeting kindergartens and primary school will be used in various activities such as sports, music, art, agriculture, and technology. The supplies also include stationeries as well as classroom furniture.
