UNICEF signs agreement with Government of Hungary to scale up support to Ukrainian refugees
As the winter season approaches, UNICEF and the government of Hungary are ready to scale up their joint efforts to support refugees from Ukraine

11 October 2022 - UNICEF signed an agreement with the Government of Hungary to support the Government’s response to the arrival of refugees in Hungary and the situation of children and families affected by the crisis in Ukraine.
The agreement – established for a period of one year – was signed by Deputy Regional Director Philippe Cori on behalf of UNICEF, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Péter Szijjártó on behalf of the Government of Hungary.
Since the beginning of the crisis, UNICEF has partnered with national authorities, municipalities, civil society, youth organisations and volunteers in Hungary to meet children’s most urgent and long-term needs. As the winter season approaches, UNICEF and the government of Hungary are ready to scale up their joint efforts to prepare for a possible increase in the number of refugees and an escalation of humanitarian needs.
