Working through the night. Aziz (16) is editing one of his films.

After a long, long night in the editing room we are done with all the films when the participants gather for breakfast. And because of this, we have a surprise for them.

As a little thank you for their good work over the last few days, we are taking them out on a field trip in the morning. The destination of our one-hour drive is an old Silk Road city called Hissar.

The Hissar fortress was built in the 16th century and from the top you have a magnificent view over the whole valley. Many of the workshop participants have never been here before and since the weather is also really nice today, they truly enjoy the new experience. Needless to say, they of course also do a fair bit of photo-shooting and video-filming on site.

Back at the workshop venue, we set things up for the final presentation. We managed to produce 25 films with the children over the last five days. All films deal with water issues and it will be very interesting to see all of them together for the very first time.

At 3 PM, a number of local UNICEF staff members and NGO leaders join the children for the presentation. We are running a bit late, because we only expected to have 20 films from the 20 children, but since yesterday, five more film ideas came up and we tried our best to facilitate the process and make things happen. And we did!

All films are applauded by the crowd. There are several highlights, some funny, some more serious, but all films are very meaningful and together they really sum up what Tajik children think about water issues. Now it is our task to take things further. UNICEF Tajikistan will try to put the films up at the international conference "Water for life" in June this year. And some of the children will continue film-making, there is absolutely no doubt about that.
