OneMinutesJr workshop in Kotor - Day 5

Dobrota, MONTENEGRO, 27 September 2013 - The last day of the OneMinutesJr workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction has come and all 20 films produced by the children here in Dobrota are ready for the final presentation on the big screen.

However, we do need to put some bureaucracy first before the premiere of the films. All participants have to fill in the application forms for the OneMinutesJr awards if they want to enter their films into the annual competition. They also need to make up their minds what category they want to their films to be listed in.

There are the following three categories:

  • Inside - out with a strong focus on stories about social inclusion
  • (Self-)portrait - self-explanatory
  • One minute of freedom - basically everything that does not fit into the other categories, also called the "open category"

Once this has all been done, the lights go out and the presentation starts. For the first time, we watch the 20 films and every film gets a big round of applause. Afterwards the participants get their certificates and we take the mandatory group picture. The films will now go online on different channels and will hopefully also be shown in schools around the country.

And next week there is an international meeting in Podgorica where a selection of the movies will also be screened for the visitors from other countries in our region.
