OneMinutesJr workshop in Odessa, Ukraine (4)

by Chris Schuepp

ODESSA, Ukraine, 6 October 2012 - Day 4 of the OneMinutesJr workshop in the Black Sea city of Odessa and today it is time for some extensive editing sessions in the workshop room at The Way Home.

But first we have to finish the last film shootings and there are a couple of movies we can only do today. Rostislav stays at the children's home only during the week. On the weekends his mother picks him up and he goes to stay with her and his little sister in their tiny one-room apartment about 5 kilometers from the children's home.

Rostislav (11) has asked Petya (13) to do the interview with his mother and what he wants to know is: "How did I end up in the children's home?"

Here is the result of today's visit to Rostislav's home:

It is already getting dark when we film Andrei's film. It is a very simple story, but the images and the plot make it really interesting to watch. Andrei (15) does not want to look back. Why? He will have his reasons. Whatever you do, he will not look back. Or will he? Take a look at his video.

Tomorrow at 11 AM we will premiere all the films at The Way Home and we expect a great mix of documentary and artistic short films, all produced by the kids here at the children's home in Odessa. After that, they will all go online and advocate for the improvement of children's rights and as a reminder of what can happen when things go terribly wrong.
