About

There is a large gap between coverage and acceptance in almost all Member States. Nigeria, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Ethiopia—among the most populous Member States—have fewer than 5% of their populations vaccinated with at least one vaccine dose, while PERC data show acceptance is between 60% and 80%. Vaccine acceptance does not necessarily translate into geting shots into arms. Reliable vaccine supply and distribution support are critical, along with the strategic dissemination of vaccine information, misinformation management and addressing local, contextual factors posing barriers, to promote greater uptake.
