About

Health systems across low- and middle-income countries are striving to prevent and manage child wasting. In order to rapidly scale up wasting services and to achieve the SDG target for wasting, one of the critical calls to action is for countries to integrate wasting treatment into primary health care services, as recognized by the UN Global Action plan for Child Wasting and UNICEF Nutrition strategy 2020-2030

This new resource, developed by UNICEF and Results for Development, Integrating Early Detection and Treatment of Child Wasting into Routine Primary Health Care Services: A RESOURCE GUIDE TO SUPPORT NATIONAL PLANNING, offers an easy-to-follow process for governments to identify integration actions that can help achieve wasting programme goals within routine primary health care services. This guide includes tools and resources to support national decision-makers in developing their integration plans.
