P&G donated UNICEF 5 palettes of baby hygiene products
Helping families with children in need
Zagreb, May 13th, 2020 – Today, the company Procter & Gamble donated 5 palettes of children hygiene products to UNICEF Croatia. The total value of the donation is almost HRK 60,000 and it includes 165 packs of diapers, 768 baby toothbrushes and 600 toothpastes.
UNICEF will deliver this donation to socially disadvantaged families from Međimurje County who found themselves in particularly difficult life circumstances during the coronavirus pandemic. In cooperation with the Red Cross Society of Međimurje County, diapers, toothbrushes and toothpaste will be delivered to families with children living in difficult circumstances and at risk of poverty.
Neven Kružljak, head of the Child Care category at P&G said: “We are in an unprecedented situation where some families with children have been brought into extremely difficult life circumstances. P&G continuously helps various communities in Croatia, so we’ve promptly responded to the UNICEF’s invitation and enabled this valuable donation. We thank UNICEF for providing companies like ours with an insight into the real needs of children in Croatia and for helping us to deliver the help on time.”
Regina M. Castillo, Representative of the UNICEF Office for Croatia, said: “Our mission is to support children and their families in vulnerable situations in Croatia and around the world. Children affected by severe poverty are particularly vulnerable and often lack basic necessities, making it much more difficult for them to integrate into society. The company P&G has been supporting our work for years, and I thank them warmly once again for making this contribution and for their continuous and generous support to the children who need our help the most.”
As part of its national campaign "Together Against Coronavirus", and together with donors and companies UNICEF provides assistance to the most vulnerable children and families in Croatia. Donations to UNICEF help provide support to families at risk of poverty, psychosocial assistance for foster families, support distance education, procure protective equipment for health workers and social care workers, procure disinfectants and hygiene supplies, procure respirators and medical equipment for the most vulnerable patients and protect children from cyber bullying and the negative effects of misinformation and fake news.
