EDUCATE A CHILD, a program of Education Above All, is a global initiative launched by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser of Qatar, aiming to significantly reduce the number of out-of-school children worldwide.

EDUCATE A CHILD and UNICEF believe that every child has the right to an education regardless of who they are, where they live or how much money their family has. But about 263 million children and adolescents around the world do not have the opportunity to enter or complete school. They are thwarted by poverty, discrimination, armed conflict, emergencies and the effects of climate change.

The support of partners such as EDUCATE A CHILD is essential to providing good quality education for all children, including the most excluded and marginalized.

UNICEF’s partnership with the Educate A Child started in 2012, and has grown significantly in the past five years. EDUCATE A CHILD is now one of UNICEF’s strategic private sector partners.

EAC and UNICEF are partnering to contribute to the overall EAC goal of providing access to quality primary education for 10 million children.

About EAC

EAC’s vision is to enable every child to complete a full course of quality primary education.
