OneMinutesJr workshop - Derventa (BiH) - Day 4
DERVENTA, BiH, 17 November 2011 - Only three more films are on the agenda for today, then we will start the editing process at the OneMinutesJr workshop here in Derventa in the North of Republika Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The children are still very motivated,. Actually, they have really glued as a group now and are helping each other wherever they can. Sara's film is one of the three still on the to-do list today. The 12-year-old is concerned about the inofficial "dress code" in school. Children from poorer families are often bullied because of their worn out clothing. Sara wants to make a point against this with her film that will take an unexpected turn in the end.
Drazen (13) is doing a film about the "eco patrol" in the afternoon. Frankly, there is quite a bit of garbage all around the school and basically everywhere in the center of Derventa. Drazen has had enough and wants to use the OneMinutesJr project to campaign against people throwing their garbage everywhere.
Last but not least, Denis (14) produces a film in class where more bullying takes places. This time it is the smartest kid in the class who is bullied. Denis is not a bully, but he also doesn't do enough against it. In his film, he changes this and stands up for his friend.
And now, all attention goes to the editing, finding the perfect titles for the films, producing voice-overs and finshing the films in time for the presentation tomorrow. Here is a short sneak preview of the first finished films, Silvana's movie about her losing her friends to omputer games.
