New and Emerging Talent Initiative
Nurturing mid-career talent into UNICEF leaders
The New and Emerging Talent Initiative (NETI) is a unique entry point for dynamic and highly-qualified professionals interested in an international career with UNICEF. The programme focuses on attracting, developing and retaining mid-career professionals with at least five years of work experience. It is a highly competitive programme that attracts candidates from all over the world.
How it works
Every year we advertise Generic Vacancy Announcements in specific functional areas, depending on UNICEF’s critical talent gaps and staffing needs. The recruitment period usually takes place between July and September.
If you are a successful candidate, you will be placed in a Talent Group within the relevant functional area you have applied for, and from there, you may be called upon to be deployed to one of our hundreds of offices around the world. Candidates that take up a position participate in the NETI programme for two years.
What we offer
Throughout the programme, NETIs are part of a vibrant network and have access to a unique package of career development support, including a two-week orientation at our headquarters in New York, mentoring from seasoned UNICEF leaders, external coaching, peer support and networking events.
Moreover, as a NETI you also receive the full benefits of a UNICEF fixed-term International Professional at the P-3 level.
