Analysis of Situation of Children and Women in Cambodia- Updated Version

© UNICEF Cambodia/2018

In preparation for its new Cambodia Country Programme (2019-2023), UNICEF has updated the Situation Analysis (SitAn) of children and women in Cambodia, building on the detailed 2013 SitAn findings.

This SitAn update uses and collates research, studies and evaluations conducted between 2014 and 2017 to demonstrate inequities, deprivations and gaps in the fulfilment of children’s rights, especially the most disadvantaged and vulnerable, as established by the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and other key international conventions.  Use of interactive links throughout the report will help users to get more detailed information and analyses of interest.
The SitAn is an important resource for decision-makers, partners and all other stakeholders to better understand the current status of children’s rights in Cambodia and the causes of shortfalls and inequities, and provides a basis for formulating actions. The document also aims to support national planning and development processes, including guiding policies, strategies, budgets and national laws to contribute towards an enabling environment for children that adheres to human rights principles and gender equality.
