Highlights
The Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation has released, the Child Protection Sector Strategic Implementation Plan 2022-2026 and the Action Plan for Improving of Alternative Care 2023-2027 and the Guidelines on the Child Reintegration, transitioning of AC and closure of Alternative Care Facilities.
The Child Protection Sector Strategic Implementation Plan aims to a vision for child protection, while at the same time providing an operational focus – this will enable the core stakeholders to use this for implementation, which means more children protected from violence, abuse and exploitation.
The Action Plan for Improving of Alternative Care builds on the successes and challenges of the previous care reform plan, and continue the care reform agenda in the country, especially to reduce institutionalization of children and promote family-based care. The Guidelines on the Child Reintegration, transitioning of Alternative Care and Closure of Alternative Care Facilities provides more specific guidance to the stakeholders to ensure all children living in residential care have permanency planning and that they are supported as part of full case management and reintegration.
