Sofia, 15 February 2023 Over 500,000 leva were fundraised in the charity mini-season of ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar for Every Child’, organized jointly by Nova Broadcasting Group and UNICEF Bulgaria. On three consecutive nights, eight duets of celebrities and talented children took to the stage of the impersonation show to support three charitable causes. ‘Protection for every child’, ‘A Voice for every child’ and ‘The best start in life for every child’ were supported by almost 85,000 monthly or one-off donors to UNICEF. 100,000 leva of the funds raised will be allocated to support the children and families affected by the devastating earthquake in Türkiye and Syria where UNICEF teams are working around the clock to support those in need.

‘As a socially responsible company, Nova Broadcasting Group has always stood behind significant public causes. And one of the most important causes is improving the quality of life of Bulgarian children. I believe that with our support as a media company, the empathy of NOVA's viewers, and the experience of our longtime partners from UNICEF Bulgaria, we will be able to achieve this’, said Stefana Zdravkova, CEO of Nova Broadcasting Group.

‘These three nights were amazing – a celebration where we came together, in hope and solidarity for every child. In times of conflict, devastating natural disasters and insecurity, it is more important than ever that no child is left behind. UNICEF is on the ground and has been working around the clock to provide life-saving assistance to those affected by the earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria. For more than 20 years we have been changing the lives of the most vulnerable girls and boys in Bulgaria. But we are not alone in our mission. Thank you to all the participants, our partner – NOVA and all involved in the realization of this beautiful event and thank you to all hundred thousands of viewers who opened their hearts and supported the three causes . Only together we can build a better and fairer world for every child’, said Christina de Bruin, UNICEF Representative in Bulgaria.

NOVA’s viewers decided to vote for the victory of Maggie Dzhanavarova and Bogomila Yaneva with their great performance impersonating Whitney Houston. Shortly thereafter, presenters Ani Salich, Gerasim Georgiev – Gero and Dimitar Rachkov announced the big winners in ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar For Every Child’ – DesiSlava and Elena Vasileva, who took the stage for the last time as the legendary Cher.

The exciting finale began with a special performance by the children from ‘Bon-Bon’ and Margarita Hranova, who raised the audience to their feet. Iliana Raeva, Vesko Eshkenazi, Nikolay Doynov and Magardich Halvadjian highly appreciated the uncompromising talent of the young performers and the celebrities. For the last performance Titi Papazov and Vasil Kanev bet on Dancho Karadjov, Kalin Vrachanski and Alexander Markov turned the stage into part of the ‘Aladdin’ movie, Krassi Radkov and Georgi Tsvetanov captured the hearts of everyone as Elvis Presley, Nencho Balabanov and Georgi Dimkin sang as Veselin Marinov, Lucy Dyakovska and Elizabeth Kirova impressed with incredible choreography as Ruslana.

The first night of the charity season of ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’ was devoted to the cause called ‘Protection for Every Child’, focused on prevention and child protection from violence. On Monday, everyone stood behind the second cause ‘A Voice for Every Child’ that will help nonverbal children in Bulgaria to express themselves, communicate and learn.

On the final night, the efforts focused on raising funds for the initiative ‘The best start in life for Every Child’

that aims to draw attention to the physical health and the socio-emotional and cognitive development of the youngest children up to 3 years of age.
