Conference on elimination of violence against women and children in Sarajevo

UNICEF and Infoteka Medica Zenica are organizing a conference on multidisciplinary approach to elimination of domestic violence and other forms of violence against women and children.

Educational project „Multidisciplinary approach to elimination of domestic violence and other forms of violence against women and children“ has gathered, in its six years of implementation, 767 participants in seminaros in nine regions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in  63 municipalities. Amngost them were officials from social wellfare centers, health institutions, police, judiciary, journaslist and NGO activists and volunteers. 

In the first year of implementation, the project was supported by UNIFEM and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and in the next five years, the project has been supported by UNICEF. After five years of collaboration in the project, UNICEF and Medica have decided to organize this Conference which will bring together representatives form all regions (Zenica, Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Una-Sana Canton, Central Bosnian Canton, Bosnia-Podrinje Canton te regions of Doboj, Prijedor, South Podrinje i East Herzegovine in the RS) where this project has been implemented. Participants from all partnering organizations  that have helped its implementation (Žena BiH - Mostar, Žene sa Une - Bihaæ, Nada - Prijedor, Pro et contra - Prijedor, Buduænost - Modrièa,  Alter art - Travnik, Most - Višegrad, Goraždanke - Goražde, AnimaN - Goražde, Ženski centar - Trebinje) will also be present on this occasion. The aim is to make another step towards networking and institutional linkages among stakeholders across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
