Highlights

The 2019 Bhutan Health Care Facility Survey is the first national census of its kind in Bhutan and follows smaller-scale surveys conducted in 2015 and 2016. The National Census was designed to provide results for the different facility types and for each of the 20 districts in Bhutan.

This report provides a national-level information for the various types of facilities in hospitals, and basic health units (BHUs). The 2019 census was conducted under the authority of the Public Health Engineering Division of the Department of Public Health, Ministry of Health, with funding from the Royal Government of Bhutan, UNICEF, SNV, and WHO.
