Every 6 out of 10 children aged between 13 to 17 years have experienced at least one incident of physical violence, the study on violence against children in Bhutan has found.

The report was produced by the National Commission for Women and Children (NCWC), the government of Bhutan and UNICEF in May 2016. The resource is a summary of a comprehensive, three-year and multi-phase (desk review, qualitative and quantitative) research on violence against children. The document provides key datasets related to incidence of physical, sexual, and emotional violence against children, as well as children’s access to pornography. The document also provides recommendations for preventing violence against children, and strengthening the child protection system in the country.
