Clean water for health - A WASH FIT initiative
UNICEF and Government of Korea invest $BZ38,000 for safe hydration in health facilities
The Ministry of Health & Wellness, in collaboration with UNICEF Belize and the Government of the Republic of Korea, has recently facilitated the installation of several portable drinking water stations across various health facilities nationwide.
These water stations, each valued at BZ$38,000, form part of the Water and Sanitation for Health Facility Improvement Tool (WASH FIT) initiative, currently being implemented through the Licensing and Accreditation Unit. This initiative is designed to strengthen quality improvement efforts within health facilities, with a particular focus on ensuring access to safe drinking water for both healthcare staff and patients.
This partnership underscores our continued commitment to enhancing the quality of care and promoting a healthier, safer environment within our health system.
