What can children contribute to a discussion about poverty?
Quite a lot actually!
One of the highlights of the Child Poverty Consultation was the engagement of members of the National Children's Parliament. They presented their perceptions of poverty, key areas of deprivation and suggested strategies for inclusive and targeted invested to address child poverty.
H.E. Ishmael Nicholson, Governor General of the 2021 National Children’s Parliament, gave his opening remarks where he spoke about adolescents and youth being more than a target group but also change agents capable of contributing to national discussions.
