This important national event will take place from July 28–31, 2025, at Atlantic Tower, Belize City.
The 4-day workshop will bring together national experts and key stakeholders to validate the preliminary findings of the 2024 MICS7. Participants will conduct thematic reviews in areas such as:
- Sampling coverage
- Learn and acquire skills
- Child health, nutrition and development
- Live in a safe and clean environment
- Reproductive, maternal, newborn, and adult health
- Protected from violence and exploitation
- Equitable chance in live/ Survive
- Mental Health
- Further Analysis: Multidimensional Child Poverty (MCDP) roadmap
Each thematic session includes presentation of key findings, open dialogue, and agreement on final recommendations for Belize’s official Survey Findings Report (SFR).
Participants are expected to attend on the specific day(s) when their relevant thematic areas are being reviewed. Special attention will be given to validating both internal and external consistency, reviewing the mental health module, and finalizing the Multidimensional Child Poverty (MDCP) framework.
"This workshop is a crucial step in ensuring that the data we collected truly reflects the realities of Belizean households. With your expertise, we’ll ensure our final report is both accurate and impactful," says Dylan Wiliams, Chair of MICS Planning Committee.
MICS7 is implemented with technical support from UNICEF and funding from KOICA and various government ministries. These partnership have been instrumental in releasing Belize’s most current and comprehensive data on children and women.
