Breaking the silence on violence against children

Violence and sexual abuse against children continue to harm too many young lives in Belize and most often in silence. The Blue Teddy Bear Campaign, led by the National Committee for Families and Children (NCFC) in partnership with UNICEF Belize and the Ministry of Human Development, Family Support and Gender Affairs, is changing that.

This campaign moves beyond awareness to action, empowering communities, schools, families, and the private sector with the knowledge and tools to recognize, prevent, and report violence against children.

At the heart of the campaign is the blue teddy bear with a bandage  as a symbol of comfort, healing, and protection. It reminds us that every child deserves to grow up safe, heard, and cared for.

Beginning in Southside Belize City, the campaign will engage community organizations, schools, families, and workplaces to build safer environments where children are protected and supported.

Together, we can break the silence and protect every child.
